Ways to be Involved

Servant Cards

Servant cards are available in the church office or the church narthex. You may fill out a servant card and give it to an usher at worship, put it in the offering plate, or turn it in at the church office during the week. You may also call the church office and discuss with the office manager what you would like to do (563-242-7391). She will advise the appropriate committee chairperson, and someone from the committee will be in touch with you. Thank you for your time and your talents.

Participate on a Committee

The Building and Grounds Committee seeks to enhance the mission of the church by providing space that is warm, dry, clean, safe, esthetically pleasing, and spiritually inspirational. Our calling is to support the work of the professional staff, lay leaders, and other volunteers by ensuring that the physical facilities are capable of meeting their program requirements and worship needs.

TheChristian Education Committee at Zion seeks to offer opportunities for life-long learning for all ages. Members are devoted to teaching the Scriptures and the Catechism as charged in the Baptismal promise. This ministry celebrates the milestones of life as we develop our relationship with Christ Jesus.

The mission of the Evangelism Committee is to proclaim the transforming Word of God to all people, connecting us as fellow disciples.

The Fellowship committee sponsors various events fostering a spirit of caring within the congregation, that promote Christian community and mutual support.

The Stewardship Committee seeks to increase our awareness of faithful and prayerful giving as a grateful response to God’s abundance. This ministry opens us to the daily and life-long tasks of offering our gifts of time, talents and possessions to promote God’s ministry to all.

The Social Ministry Committee affirms that living our baptism means carrying out God’s mission, as servants who share the compassion of Christ, to provide active leadership by increasing awareness of the social and human needs of those in our church, community, and throughout the world.

The Worship and Music Committee at Zion is focused on the worship and praise of our Triune God with prayerful planning of words and music for each service and intentional invitation to participation and planning.

Sponsor a Radio Broadcast

Our Sunday morning worship service is broadcast on KROS AM 1340 Radio at 10:30 am. Reaching out to the community of Clinton through our Sunday Worship Radio Broadcast is a very important mission. There are many who listen each and every Sunday. Did you know that this is a way that you can be a part of the outreach of Zion? It costs $85 every week for the worship service to be broadcast, and you have the opportunity to sponsor one or more weeks of worship outreach. You may also simply give a gift to the radio ministry without sponsoring an entire broadcast yourself. If you would like to give a gift to the radio ministry of Zion, write a check to “Zion Lutheran Church” and write “Radio” on the memo line.  Mail your check to: Zion Lutheran, 439 3rd Ave. S., Clinton, IA  52732

Thank you for your participation in this vital ministry.
