Welcome from our Associate in Ministry For Word and Service, Ruth Blom

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.  Amen

Greetings to the Body of Christ that is Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  I am so delighted and blessed to have joined you in ministry.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and I ask your patience as I put names and faces together.

I am an Associate in Ministry (AIM) for Word and Service, becoming rostered within the ELCA in Dec. 1992.  That means that I have been called and set apart for service within the church as a Lay Professional.  This certification requires that I needed to meet certain educational criteria set out by the ELCA and I went through the same candidacy process as people who are ordained into the office of Word and Sacrament, such as Pastor Jen and Pastor Stacy.  

My professional background includes Music Education, Music Therapy, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and Family Ministry.  My personal life has also included participating in community theater productions, directing and singing in community choirs, directing music camps, golfing, bowling, playing volleyball, canoeing in the BWCA and many other activities of personal interest.

My door is always open and I hope that you will stop by and let me get to know you.
