March School of Ministry workshops focus on parenting for faith

The Center for Renewal offers a series of classes in the fall and the winter/spring of each year called the School of Ministry. Workshops are offered in a personal growth track (for members who would like to grow deeper in faith) and a leadership track (for congregational leaders, both lay and rostered). In March, all School of Ministry workshops will focus on helping parents mentor children in the faith. In addition, this winter School of Ministry sessions are being offered both in Des Moines and Iowa City! 

 On Saturday, March 1 (9 am-3 pm), at Grand View College in Des Moines, Melinda Littler, early childhood coordinator at Faith in Clive, will give parents, grandparents and baptismal sponsors practical tips so that they can share faith with the children in their lives. On that same day, Erik Ullested, family life and youth director at Windsor Heights in Des Moines will lead congregational leaders through 'best practices' from churches that are actively teaching parents to teach their children.

On Sunday, March 2 (2 pm-8 pm), at the Synod Office in Iowa City, child development specialist, parent and Sunday school teacher Jennifer Ohman-Rodriguez will help parents and grandparents incorporate faith's teachings into their everyday lives. On that same day, Erik Ullested will repeat the workshop for congregational leaders that he offered on March 1 (see above).

Cost is $25 per participant. Please select only one workshop per date at your location of choice.
